Iron man pillarIn the German national forest of Naturpark Kottenforst-Ville, there is an ancient iron pillar called Der Eiserne Mann (The Iron Man). It is a square metal bar partially buried- about 5' above ground and 9' below ground. It is a mystery as, though exposed to the weather for centuries (possibly millenium), it has practically no rust- just a few signs of weathering. This is remarkable, as even our iron items of today rust significantly in a relatively short period of time. Who made it, how they made it, and why, is unknown.[1]
